Glebe farm holiday cottages at Gunthorpe nr Nottingham Nottinghamshire, are five sympathetically converted Victorian barns at the heart of a mixed 100acre arable and beef farm in the delightful picturesque river Trent valley
Our cottages are set around a landscaped courtyard and surrounded by a patchwork of fields, river meadows, their own gardens, stunning views and private river fishing along the famous Trent Valley way.
We are close to the ancient market towns of Newark and Southwell with its magnificent medieval Minster. Sherwood Forest, Rufford Abbey ,Newstead Abbey, Clumber Park and Belvoir castle are all only 20-30 minutes.
If you want to dine out Gunthorpe village boasts some of the best restaurants in the area. Tom Browns Brasserie, and also Biondis Italian, The Bridge and Bayleaf Indian, The Unicorn Hotel and the Marina lighthouse Bar are all just a 15 minute walk away.
Alternatively why not spoil yourself with locally sourced fine food from our neighbours (Gonalston farm Shop) where you can treat yourself to Stilton Cheese, Melton Mowbray, famous pork pies, and Belvoir Elderflower wine and a host of locally made jams, jellies and organic bread.
Four of the cottages have ground floor bedrooms and the fifth has bedrooms all on one level with a bathroom. All have under floor heating, comfortable beds, flat screen multichannel TVs and DVD players, modern, fully equipped kitchen and either wired or wireless internet connections.
Two of the cottages (the Barn and the Granary) sleep five people, the Tackroom cottage sleeps four, the Hayloft sleeps three and the Swallows rest cottage sleeps two.
Car parking is adjacent next to the holiday cottages and the nearest shop is only three miles away.
